Game Intro: Unravel the secrets of a mansion once belonging to the highest authority of an entire country, and find out how the people once living there, met their demise.
What i learned from this project: How to code a solid core gameloop that is ‘future proof’, writing a basic save system with multiple slots, working with player prefs, how to create a automatic 2D layersorting tool for a 2D top-down game, basic pixel art techniques, porting an entire framework from one engine to another, both JSON & Binary data serialisation, in-depth usage of assemblies, generics and eventhandlers in C#, creating and managing an inventory system, basics of multithreading in C#, mutexes & threadmanagement with cancellation tokens (more will be added as development progresses)
Extra Info: Envision: BF is a passion project that I work on in my spare time. This project originates from one of my first spare time projects called ‘Raven Point’, a small puzzle horror game which was later on combined with a gamejam game concept of mine named ‘Envision’ that ultimately failed because of overscoping. The game then became a big passion project under the merged name Envision: Black Feathers.
